How to treat papillomas

Papillomas on the skin of the eyelids require treatment

Papillomavirus is the most common virus detected in the human body. It can exist in a latent state, that is, sleeping, from several months to several years. Under the influence of certain irritants, the virus begins to manifest itself in the form of warts and growths on the skin, called papillomas. How to treat papillomas, what are the symptoms of infectious diseases, will be described in more detail in the article.

Characteristics of treatment

Only a specialist should treat human papillomavirus infections. Treatment with folk remedies at home can only be carried out with the consent of a doctor.

According to official data, there are more than 100 types of this disease. Treatment and characteristic symptoms will vary in each case. It is for this reason that deciding on the necessary treatment is quite difficult, the wrong treatment can make the condition worse and the pathological symptoms spread throughout the body.

Before starting treatment for papillomas on the body, the doctor will find out the real cause of the development of the disease.

Only then will the specialist decide on the most effective treatment method. Of course, on pharmacy counters you can find many remedies that help eliminate the symptoms of the disease, but some of them may not only be ineffective, but also aggravate the course of the pathology.

Some of them include acid to kill the growth of pathogens and nitrogen to freeze, the use of which will help them fall off on their own. There are also special patches that are applied to the affected area and left for 2-3 hours. After this time, the area is moistened with water, the patch is peeled off, and the wart falls off.

Famous doctors believe that such treatments only work to eliminate the external manifestations of the disease, while HPV still exists in the body and can be activated after a certain period of time. To get rid of papillomavirus, you should see a doctor. In this case, special antiviral drugs are prescribed that can stop the infection and its generalization in the body.

So, let's see how to get rid of the characteristic external manifestations of the disease and here they are:

  • cold destruction,
  • laser therapy,
  • electric coagulation,
  • radiofrequency surgery.

Cold destruction

The traditional method of treating papillomas in men and women is cryodestruction, that is, using liquid nitrogen, applied to the wart, thereby freezing it. Immediately after application, a burning sensation will appear and disappear after a short time. Despite this discomfort, the procedure causes tissue necrosis to develop, after which the tissue dies. This allows new healthy tissue to grow in the area.

Cryoablation – targeted papilloma removal using liquid nitrogen

Liquid nitrogen when applied to a skin tumor will not affect surrounding healthy tissues.

The advantage is that there is no risk of bleeding because during freezing the arteries and veins located in this part will be clogged. The area treated with liquid nitrogen will heal quite quickly. There are no scars on it because such treatment does not alter the tissues. In some cases, barely noticeable scars remain, but this is quite rare. For the most part, this is smooth and clean skin after the procedure.

This method of treating papillomas in women and men is practically painless, except for a slight burning sensation immediately after applying the product.

Laser removal

Some doctors do not even think about how to treat papillomas in this or that person, but immediately prescribe laser treatment. Low-intensity rays are used during the treatment, helping to achieve the following results:

  • Stimulates normal blood circulation in the affected area;
  • improves tissue nutrition;
  • Activate self-healing processes.

All these processes together help to quickly heal the treated surface. There are 2 stages in treating the symptoms of the disease:

  • Cut off growth.
  • Coagulation (closing of blood vessels and affected cells).

This is the second stage of treatment that ensures the exclusion of the development of any inflammatory process in the area exposed to the laser and tissue scarring. In principle, after removing a tumor no more than 5 mm in diameter, there will be no scars left. After removing larger growths, you can observe the formation of spots with a slightly whitish tone that are not very noticeable.

Laser therapy has the advantage of eliminating the possibility of affecting surrounding healthy tissue, thereby reducing the risk of infection. Another advantage of the treatment is the ability to control the depth of laser exposure during the procedure. The target is simply that the altered tissue, specifically the area where the wart is located, turns into a crust and falls off.

Considering the accuracy of the impact of the laser beam, we can conclude that papillomas can be cured by this method even in the genital area, eliminating the risk of complications in the postoperative period. As for the disadvantages of laser therapy, they include a side effect - burns, which disappear over time.

Burn electricity

You can treat tumors in any area (neck papillomas, armpits, etc. ) with electrocautery - a method that uses electric current to burn away altered tissue. The electric current comes from a special device - the main instrument involved in the process.

Electrocautery procedure to effectively remove papillomas

Electrocautery is an inexpensive hobby that makes treatment accessible to ordinary people.

The total duration of a session should not exceed 15 minutes. If the growth is small, repeat treatment is not needed. Complete relief of symptoms occurs 7 days after the procedure. During this time there is no pain or discomfort.

It is necessary for everyone, including children, to have the resected tissue examined for malignancy. This is necessary because even a benign tumor can degenerate into malignancy. In this case, the biological material is analyzed histologically.

Before performing electrocautery, the specialist carries out diagnostic measures to be able to identify existing contraindications to the use of this technique.

Radiotherapy

Symptoms caused by the virus and its action in the body can be treated with techniques such as radiotherapy. Treatment will help remove both single tumors and multiple tumors throughout the body. The advantages of this therapy include the absence of risk of scarring after surgery and the elimination of irritation of nerve endings. This is what allows this method to be used in the treatment of papillomas in any area, including on the face, for example, in the eyes.

The following contraindications include:

  • Pregnancy period;
  • concurrent cancer;
  • inflammatory process on the skin in the area to be treated;
  • menstruation;
  • any disease occurring in the acute stage.

Before treatment, the area affected by radio waves will be treated with anesthetic. This may be a special anesthetic cream, spray or injection that has such an effect. The total duration of the session should not exceed 30 minutes. After directly removing the tumor, a small wound will appear in its place, which heals over time, and a thin crust forms in its place. The latter also disappears after a while.

How to get rid of viruses

Treatment of papillomavirus by only eliminating external manifestations will not be effective, since in the future it will still manifest itself through the appearance of similar symptoms. So can this virus be cured and how to do it? To achieve this goal, special drugs are prescribed, used in combination, namely:

  • antiviral drugs in different release forms;
  • immunomodulators.

With the help of antiviral drugs, it is possible to destroy the structure of the human papilloma virus and prevent its further spread throughout the body. This can be a gel, ointment, tablets, suppositories, injection solution. Tablets are considered the most effective. Pills are often prescribed to help suppress viral activity.

If symptoms of papillomavirus appear in the genitals, the use of rectal suppositories will be prescribed, which will help eliminate and prevent the inflammatory process in this area and strengthen local immunity. The daily dosage of such products is 1-2 suppositories.

Immunomodulators are prescribed to increase the body's resistance to viral activity. These should only be prescribed by a specialist because they affect the human immune system.

Treatment at home

As noted above, folk remedies are only a supplement to the main therapy and are not the main treatment in all cases. You can use the following natural ingredients:

  • egg (crude protein is applied to the skin growth several times a day until it begins to peel off on its own);
  • castor oil (apply this product to the affected area several times a day, covering them with a bandage or scarf; this method is used until the tumor disappears);
  • laundry soap (this method is used only in cases where there are papillomas on the skin; this treatment is not suitable for mucous membranes; rub the growths for 5 days, trying not to damage the integrity of thetissue);
  • celandine (after steaming the skin with new acne, along with new acne, is smeared with a fatty cream, then with plant juice; this procedure is carried out several times a day for a week);
  • garlic (used to treat papillomas in any area except the face and genitals, so as not to burn; lubricate the growth with a clove cut in half every 5 minutes for half an hour; carry out the procedure in the morning and evening for 2 weeks);
  • iodine (after lubricating the skin around the growth with a cream rich in iodine: apply it to the growth with a cotton swab until inflammation appears, after which it begins to peel off on its own);
  • dandelion (using the plant, make an infusion by pouring the perfume into the head and leave to infuse for 2 weeks; after this time, filter the infusion and lubricate the growth until it falls off on its own).

Human papillomavirus infection can become dangerous to health, especially if treatment is not started promptly and adequately. This is why it is important to consult a doctor at the first warning signs.
